About Ray Nutaitis

Ray Nutaitis Ray is a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania, near the picturesque Pocono Mountains. His talent for music was recognized at an early age, and he did his undergraduate degree work at Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre PA. His wife, Paulyna, from Northeastern PA, is also an accomplished musician on concert violin and piano. Following Wilkes, Ray successfully pursued a Masters Degree in Tuba Performance from the esteemed Eastman School of music in Rochester New York.

Ray feels blessed in having four careers.

His first career as a professional musician and university music faculty, included positions with the Buffalo Philharmonic and Phoenix Symphonies, and professorships at the University of Illinois and Arizona State University. He is also an accomplished studio and recording musician, specializing in Dixieland and traditional jazz.

After 18 years, Ray entered his 2nd career, spending the next 25 years in real estate brokerage, including owning his own business, while continuing his music in studio and show work, and just plain "gigging." He also managed a classical music recording studio at ASU.

After living in Arizona for many years, Ray began his 3rd career in 2000; retirement! But the artistic juices from music kept flowing, so Ray transitioned his creative pursuits into becoming an acrylic artist. He does mostly landscapes, and some abstracts and animals. He is a juried acrylic artist in Arizona, and was an award-winning member of the Tempe AZ Artists Guild.

In 2012 he began his 4th career, Grandpa, and he and his wife moved to Florida to be close to his son Dave, wife Katie, and grandchildren Gavin, Becky and MacKenzie. He is now an award winning member of the Sanford Seminole Art Association.
